Putrajaya, Malaysia – Demonstrating their commitment to academic excellence and international scholarly engagement, several lecturers from the English Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU), actively participated in the 9th International Conference on Social Sciences, Humanities and Technology 2026 (9th ICSHT 2026), held from 27–29 June 2026 at Dorsett Hotel Putrajaya, Malaysia.
The conference was organized by Global Academic Excellence (GAE) and brought together academics, researchers, professionals, and scholars from various countries to share research findings, exchange ideas, foster academic discussions, and establish international research collaborations across the fields of social sciences, humanities, education, and technology.
The English Education Study Program was proudly represented by its lecturers, namely Dr. Khairun Niswa, M.Hum., Ambar Wulan Sari, M.Pd., Dewi Juni Artha, M.S., Ratna Sari Dewi, M.A., Dr. Tengku Winona Emelia, M.Hum., and Resty Wahyuni, M.Hum.
During the conference, the lecturers presented their research to an international audience while engaging in scholarly discussions with researchers from different countries. Their participation also provided valuable opportunities to expand professional networks, explore future research collaborations, and strengthen the international visibility of both their academic work and Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara.

Participation in international conferences such as the 9th ICSHT 2026 reflects the lecturers’ continuous dedication to advancing knowledge through research and scientific publication. It also contributes to enhancing the quality of teaching, research, and community engagement, in line with the university’s vision of becoming a globally competitive institution.
Dr. Pirman Ginting, S.Pd., M.Hum., Head of the English Education Study Program, expressed his appreciation for the lecturers’ enthusiasm in participating in international academic forums.

Similarly, Selamat Husni Hasibuan, Ph.D., Secretary of the English Education Study Program, emphasized that international academic participation has become an important part of the study program’s commitment to fostering a strong research culture.
