Medan, 13 May 2026 — The English Education Study Program of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP, Virtual Assistant Mentor, and Founder of Remotan Yuk, as the keynote speaker.
The webinar discussed various topics related to remote working, virtual assistant careers, global freelance opportunities, and strategies for utilizing English skills in international professional environments. During the session, participants were also introduced to several global working platforms such as Upwork, Fiverr, and LinkedIn.

The Head of the English Education Study Program, Dr. Pirman Ginting, S.Pd., M.Hum., stated that this webinar was conducted to help students understand that English proficiency can open many career pathways in today’s digital and global era.
“We want our students to realize that graduating from the English Education Study Program does not mean they are limited only to becoming teachers. Today, English skills can lead to many international career opportunities, including remote working and global professional collaboration,” said Dr. Pirman Ginting.
He also emphasized the importance of adapting to technological developments and global workforce trends, especially for university students preparing themselves for future careers.
The webinar received enthusiastic responses from participants. Throughout the session, students actively asked questions regarding career preparation, communication skills, and challenges in entering the remote working industry.
This activity was officially supported by the Dean of FKIP UMSU, Dra. Hj. Syamsuyurnita, M.Pd., as part of the faculty’s support for innovative academic and student development programs.
Through this webinar, the English Education Study Program hopes students will become more motivated to develop their English proficiency, digital literacy, and professional competencies in order to compete globally.
The study program also announced that more webinars and academic development programs will continue to be organized in the future as part of its ongoing commitment to preparing globally competitive graduates.
