Medan, June 2026 – Members of the English Education Department Student Association (EEDSA) from the English Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU), actively participated in the Leadership Training Program for Student Associations (HMJ) of FKIP UMSU 2026. The program was conducted under the theme “Mewujudkan Kepemimpinan HMJ FKIP UMSU yang Kolaboratif, Berkarakter, dan Berkemajuan” (Developing Collaborative, Character-Driven, and Progressive Student Leadership within FKIP UMSU).
The training was held over three days, from June 13 to June 15, 2026, at Tibrena Sibolangit, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra. A total of 122 participants attended the program, including student association leaders and members from various study programs within FKIP UMSU, speakers, organizing committee members, and supporting stakeholders.
The Leadership Training Program was designed to enhance students’ leadership competencies, strengthen teamwork, and foster character development in organizational settings. As future educators and leaders, students were encouraged to develop essential leadership values, including responsibility, integrity, collaboration, effective communication, and problem-solving skills.
Throughout the program, participants engaged in a series of activities such as leadership workshops, character-building sessions, group discussions, team-building exercises, and collaborative project planning. These activities provided participants with practical experiences in leadership and organizational management while strengthening relationships among student organizations across FKIP UMSU.
As one of the active student organizations within FKIP UMSU, EEDSA demonstrated its commitment to developing students who are not only academically competent but also capable of making meaningful contributions through leadership and organizational engagement. The participation of EEDSA members in this training reflects the organization’s dedication to nurturing future leaders who are collaborative, innovative, and socially responsible.
The Head of the English Education Study Program, Dr. Pirman Ginting, M.Hum., expressed his appreciation for the successful implementation of the program and the active participation of EEDSA members.

Meanwhile, the President of the English Education Department Student Association (EEDSA) 2026, Sunrise Nahtiti Albrandany, highlighted the significance of the program in fostering leadership and collaboration among student organizations.
